DAM HALF MARATHON & DAM RELAY COURSES
The Half Marathon course starts in the scenic town of South Prairie (elevation 467′) and finishes with the Marathon, across the Historic McMillin Bridge (elevation 128′). The Half Marathon has a net elevation loss of 339 feet.

Elevation Loss: 339′ (Map My Run elevation shows spikes of elevation gain which do not exist on the course) It is a gradual downhill route.
The half marathon begins alongside Veteran’s Park and the South Prairie Creek, gradually taking you downhill on the Foothill Rail Trail. You’ll pass through farmlands and forest, snaking along the Carbon River.
As you continue down the Foothill Trail, you’ll make your way through the quaint towns and communities of the Cascade Junction, South Prairie, and Orting. The finish takes you across the McMillin Foothill’s Trail Bridge before running through the Historic McMillin Bridge to cross the finish line.

Terrain: Paved with a 400m section of hard-packed gravel
Leg 1 – 13.1 Miles
The first leg of the relay starts at Mud Mountain Dam Park (elevation 1,319′) with the Marathon, kicking off with a 7 mile rolling downhill heading towards the SR 410 White River crossing. After a short tour of the neighborhoods in the City of Buckley, the course connects to the fast gradual downhill of the Foothill Rail Trail (elevation 467′), where you’ll send off your second runner.
Leg 2 – 13.1 Miles
The second leg of the relay starts in the scenic town of South Prairie (elevation 467′) alongside Veteran’s Park and the South Prairie Creek. Continuing down the Foothill Rail Trail, you’ll pass through farmlands and forest, snaking along the Carbon River through the quaint towns of the Cascade Junction, South Prairie, and Orting. The finish takes you across the McMilin Foothill’s Trail Bridge before running through the Historic McMillin Bridge to cross the finish line (elevation 128′).
